OUR STORY
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30
Two expatriate families started meeting in a home mid-1983 to listen to God’s word on tapes preached in a church in England. Through invitations, the number of people listening to the Word of God on tapes began to grow to include more expatriates and a couple of Malawians. The home group later on started preaching their own messages.
In September 1983 the group moved from the home and started meeting in Malawi College of Accountancy classrooms at City Centre. In November 1983 the group officially became a church called Capital City Baptist Church with it’s own constitution and statement of faith.
